Woman in purple shirt holding a camera

It's me, hi. 👋🏼 My name is Erica Chandler, APR, and I'm the Director of Communications (and proud one-person shop) for Affton School District in St. Louis, Missouri. With over 25 years of experience in public relations and communications, I began my career in concert and entertainment marketing in large departments before making the shift to school PR over a dozen years ago.

I believe in the power of our collective voice to drive positive change. Our profession is more important than ever, and it’s essential that we have the tools, resources, and support to meet the challenges we face. My vision for NSPRA is one where every member feels valued, connected, and empowered. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting out, you deserve to have a network that supports you, celebrates your successes, and helps you grow.

Running for NSPRA President-elect is not about advancing my career; it’s about giving back to a community that has given me so much. I am committed to fostering an inclusive organization, promoting professional development, and advocating for strategic communication that enhances the success of our schools and students.

With your support, we can continue to elevate the standards of school public relations and ensure that every story is told, every voice is heard, and every professional feels they truly belong. Together, we can make a lasting impact and create a brighter future for our schools and communities.

Join me on this journey, and let's make this Our NSPRA Era. đź’ś

Amplify Strategic Brilliance

Let’s embrace the power of strategic planning and strategic communications to make a lasting impact. Drawing from my experience both as a one-person shop and as a member of communications departments of many sizes, I know that being strategic can actually help ease the workload and amplify our success. Together, we can turn our wildest dreams into reality by researching, planning, implementing, and evaluating with precision and creativity.
